Teddy Bear Clinic

Renown Children's Hospital
Teddy Bear Check-Up Clinic
They have this really great tour for kids. What it does is explain the our little ones what a hospital is and why we should not be afraid to go.
Our tour guide Leah, took us through the hospital and showed us the great facility they have for kids. This is the only children's hospital between Sacramento and Utah?!? Isn't that crazy!

It started with her explaining to the kids where we are going and what we will be seeing.
She took us outside to this really cool maze the kids loved to play in. She said they have many
moms that come here when the weather is nice, just so the kids can play.
Sounds like a great idea to me

This was supposed to be a quick tour of the maze, turned into about a half hour playtime. Our guide Leah was great she was in no hurry.
The goal is to get to the center of the maze.

                                                                                 He made it!
Here's the waiting room at the children's hospital.
cool isn't it!

And they played some more!  We couldn't get them to stop.

They have art work from local artist displayed throughout the hospital

More playing

This is Hailey, one of MJ's little friends. Isn't she a cutie!

Time for a checkup!
She asked MJ what happened to his monkey and he said they were playing on the bed and he fell off.
She determined it was nothing serious and
needed a couple of bandages.

A little more play time.

They have this really great outdoor playground too.

GROUP PHOTOS!

This is definitely a must do tour here in Reno/Sparks!

Artsy Fartsy!

My Little Artist.
Last month I started taking the Monkey to art class. Turns out he really loves it. This isn't just some finger painting class. They have real projects. Didn't think he would sit through the class, but he does!

Here's a pic with Dad and Ms Kellie the art teacher

Here he is making a flower

For Mardi Gras they made face masks.
What I really like about her class is she is very hands on. She doesn't just instruct, she is sitting with the kids and helping them with the projects.

The parents can choose to help with the project or just sit back and watch. I like to sit and watch.

Mask complete and time to run around and have some fun

This was really cute. All the kids put on their masks and started chasing each other.

The Line Up!
If you live in the Reno/Sparks area and have a little one.
I highly recommend this class.

Valentines Day Party!

Valentine Kinda Day!
Unless you are living under a rock, you know February 14th is Valentine's Day.

I made these Valentine's cards for MJ to pass out to the kids.
I remember passing out V-Day cards at school when I was a kid. It was so much fun! I bet it's against school policy now!
The Mom/Kids group had a V-Day Party. It was lots of fun. All the kids brought Valentine cards to pass along to the other kids.

Here is some of the treats we had.
One of the Moms, Helen, made this. Isn't it YUMMY!

Who doesn't like rice crispy treats! I dare you to find someone that doesn't. There were made by Mama Cathleen.

TIME TO PASS OUT VALENTINE CARDS!

The kids really got into this. They had so much fun and it was a great day for us all!
